Hybrid Bus Project

Hybrid bus

Public transit is cleaner and greener now that two new hybrid diesel/electric buses are on the roads in Halifax Regional Municipality.

Conserve Nova Scotia contributed $600,000 towards the purchase of the vehicles for Metro Transit's bus fleet.

Hybrid buses use up to 30 per cent less fuel than regular buses, and greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The hybrid buses can also save money on operating costs because they require less down-time for refueling and maintenance.
